One (okay two) of my favorite things

Do you ever stop to appreciate the smallest things? Oh I do and it's a little bit crazy how much joy I can derive from drinking a fountain Diet Coke from McDonalds. I honestly think they have some secret carbonation recipe on their fountain pop machines, because it is so much better from McDonalds than anywhere else.

And that mixture, in the bowl... yep another one of my most favorite things. Dry Roasted peanuts mixed with plain m&ms - Peanut M&M's just won't do, it's got to be that infamous salty sweet mixture. What's even better, is if you put it in the refrigerator for a bit. mmmm...

Your assignment is to fully appreciate one of the small things in life today and hey, let me know what it is and I'll post it here for you! Keep it clean though, this blog is rated PG.

They actually do have a special formula! A family friend works for Coke and they have a special syrup to carbonation mixture. :)

As for the small things, I'll have to think on it!

Interesting fact about McDonalds!

As for my "thing" - it's my coffee. No, not the home-brewed kind but the latte made specifically FOR ME by wonderfully friendly baristas who see me coming and have it ready for me by the time I get to the counter. It's my sanity savor, a little treat for getting up in the morning :-) It's a small thing that makes my day.....along with the hugs, kisses and unsolicited "I love yous" from my kids :-)

I'll come show you some love! I love seeing what people are posting on their blogs. I agree...their coke must have something special in that machine. Nothing else tastes like it. ;)

Oh, and I forgot to add the small thing I am happy for today. *sigh* It's been a very very hard week, to say the very least, but today I am happy to have the sunbeam in the kitchen. :)

mmm...I have two. The first one is my special made popcorn (popped in coconut oil, salted with sea salt, and of course, M&M's added later).

The second is my cup of hot tea, I use real tea leaves (no bags!) and just a touch of honey.

I must admit I'm a die hard cherry pepsi girl...BUT McDonald's coke is a different matter entirely. I would like that installed in my kitchen!
As for the little thing I appreciate today? I didn't get out of my pajamas today...that made me happy because it's cold and snowing and I'm wearing fleece. I love it when that happens.

A fountain diet coke from McDonald's would go really well with the pringles I am eating right now.

I am thankful that American Idol is on tonight. The show is so fun and can be watched without exerting any brain power. I love Simon and some mindless entertainment, with a can of pringles too of course. :)

Okay well mine is kind of a big thing but it is the thing I am really grateful for today. 3 sleeps ago I got to see Bon Jovi in concert. I have loved them since I was 15 and seeing as how I am almost (LOL) middleaged now and that we don't get them here in Australia all that often, it was just so wonderful to be able to go and pretend I was 15 again, jump around, throw my arms in the air, be carefree, not have to worry about what time the kids would wake me up in the morning because I was staying at a motel with girlfriends, I'm grateful for Jon's cheeky smile, the fabulous music, the perfect evening out for a boring suburban mum.

There are so many other big and little things I am always grateful for (especially my babies), but this week, I'm grateful for Bon Jovi LOL.........

So it's not a little thing but if you ask me next week I should be over my Jon crush and will be able to think of something far more meaningful.

Cheers,

Lisa

I took a walk last night...
The snow crunching under my feet,
The way the moon shone on the newly fallen snow,
Watching my breath in the crisp air,
The light fluffy snow gently falling to the ground,
Peacefulness.

Now about this McD's diet coke, I had one yesterday and said the same thing to myself, nothing tastes like it, nothing! :D
